Here at The Griffin, we offer a choice of à la carte dining, pub classics or relaxed drinks, all to be enjoyed in our cosy bar by open fires, our elegant restaurant or our decadent sunken Italian garden.
A little bit of history
The Griffin Inn was built in 1843 replacing an earlier public house named
The Plough. It was originally part of the Burnside Estate with Thomas Crafts as the first landlord.
The present owners spent two years lovingly restoring The Griffin in to a beautiful traditional English pub at the heart of the community, and opened the doors once again in 2019.

dishes in a very beautiful and tranquil countryside setting.
The elegant and spacious restaurant, with views of the garden,
is perfect for both intimate dining or family gatherings.
AA Rosette awarded, our seasonal menus include an array
of delectable dishes and desserts.
The Bar
RELAX & UNWIND
The bar, with a choice of relaxed seating areas, is the ideal spot to relax and unwind with a drink after a busy day exploring Nottinghamshire or a long day at work. You can expect a friendly atmosphere along with a crackling fire to keep you toasty in the winter months. As well as a wide range of drinks and liqueurs, both bar and restaurant boast an extensive, carefully chosen wine list.
Open from 12pm, we are perfect for local dog walkers as the bar is dog friendly. Everyone is always very welcome to sip, savour and socialise in the comfy interior of our relaxed bar.
The Garden

Our decadent Italian inspired sunken garden is the perfect tranquil
space for relaxed outdoor drinking and dining. With plenty of
comfy table seating and sofas, there’s a perfect spot for everyone.
